I think NBC had Vin Scully doing the play by play. With Joe Garagiola doing color.

Sad that that is still the last WS win. Tigers totally blew it in 2006 and failed to show up at all in 2012.

2006 was our better chance of the two, SF was on FIRE in 2012. The time off between both of the series killed our momentum.

My roommate and I were downtown within about 15 minutes after the final out. Living on the east side made it pretty easy. Never caught sight of Bubba but had a hell of a time partying on the street. Bought some Thai stick off a guy, worst weed ever, should have known.

$30 for really good seats during a World Series. That wild, man.

$30 was a lot of money to me at the time. As I remember it scalped tickets were going for around $200 for the game.

Buying tickets was a different game back then. To buy tickets for the series there was an application in the Sunday Free Press. You had to mail it in with a money order. A friend and I bought the newspaper, got a money order at a drug store then drove downtown and put our applications in a mailbox outside the central USPS processing facility in Detroit. It worked like a charm as we got great seats to all of the games.
