Right about now the second plane struck

Happy Anniversary, America. :(

It becomes harder and harder each year to realize how much time has already passed and the memories are still so vivid.

It's almost to the point where kids will be graduating high school and weren't even alive when 911 happened. Let that sink in.

I was working with a guy that flew in from Pittsburgh the day before that day. He had to get a rental car to get back home. We went to lunch and saw the video of the 2nd plane hit. I've never seen anything before or since so jarring. The restaurant was dead silent. That day changed the world. :(

with all air travel grounded for about, what I can recall, 10 days or so.. I was flying out of Grand Rapids maybe the day after travel opened back up.

a dude was giving me a ride to the airport - the National Guard stopped his car, looked around in it... had him open the trunk, dug around in it. Then in the airport, there were dudes from the Guard walking around carrying rifles... about every 100 feet or so.

was pretty eerie.

IIRC air travel was down 4-5 days. Remember going outside that first night. Sky was usually lit with lights of passing planes.... nothing. Still, you could hear jets up there. Military from Selfridge.

maybe so - 10 days seems like a while. Was bizarre how quiet the skies were.

Hubby and I went to the memorial museum last year. That was a very emotional museum. Listening to people’s voicemails to their loved ones on the plane, pieces of clothes from suitcases (including kids clothes), pictures that were in someone’s office, parts of the destroyed firetrucks, etc. It was so weird hearing parents explain to their kids what happened that day in the museum. So many in tears. It was a well done museum. I highly recommend you to if you haven’t. But I would suggest having something upbeat and fun afterwards, because you need it.

Has anyone watched The Looming Tower?
