Which is why I voted yes on prop 3! Anyone for any reason should get an abstentee , and so people can register to vote same day.
I could have lied to get my absentee, but I decided to just vote first thing in the morning.

Every time I vote, it’s always run by senior citizens/retired folks. They always stare at me, and I feel like they are judging me every time . Like their thinking, oh great here comes a millennial to vote. I asked my husband if he felt the same way, and he agreed. You just feel this weird judgement from them.

Good stuff. I also hope you all voted yes on prop 1 as well. Otherwise you’re dead to me and will eventually get ran over by progress later.

yeah - it wouldn't be voting if you didn't get yelled at by some grouchy old lady.Dendrobates wrote:Every time I vote, it’s always run by senior citizens/retired folks. I voted yes on all the props. Including the 4th one in my area for a school bond.

Our polling place had lines @8:30.
Impressive since it was 47 with 20 mph wind and sideways rain.

I’ve always liked voting in person, but I want the option to vote absentee if I need to, without having to explain myself.
As for Bob voting in a packed room, that’s why I always wait until mid-afternoon.

I voted in my precinct. Now I gotta head over to the east side to vote over there. Then I’m going to head south and vote down river before I cap my night by voting in Toledo a couple of times.

If we ran things in MI like they do in Oregon there wouldn't be many if any poll workers. Everyone gets their ballot by mail and has 3 weeks to complete it and drop it into secure boxes that are in multiple locations in your community or closest municipality.
But here in MI the GOP changed a 127 year tradition of being able to vote straight ticket last year.
You want to make it easier to vote? Don't vote for Republicans.

I don't feel that way, but today, my senior citizen lady was checking us in to her computer. Dont' know what the program was or whatever, but the one lady would say "voter #91 and 1091" or something like that as I handed her that first little paper you fill out with our name birthdate and address on it. Well, the line was long and I was watching her for a bit, and then I noticed she had her "user name" and "password" with instructions uncovered and in sight for people to look at as they were standing there. Obviously she had checked in and just left it by her laptop. Being the civic minded hero I am, I put my captain america cape on and quietly said, "em, everyone who passes you can see your user name and password". I wouldn't know the website to go on or how to check in, but I think if a russian spy was in line they might be able to press buttons and make like a million votes for Trump or something. She turned her stuff over face down.

One good thing about Wyoming. Anyone can early vote. I voted like two weeks ago. Of course if Democrats start winning that will change.

Re: The Official I Voted Thread
Minor data point from a Northern Michigan deplorable. Total voters in my precinct in 2014 mid-terms – 458. I got ballot #323 at 10:15 am this morning. Seems to be a sign of pretty heavy turnout in a county that went 70%+ for Trump.

And reports from friends in Detroit are saying “in and out in five minutes”. My heavy republican district was jammed. Might be a 16 repeat.

For comparison in '14 I got ballot #60. I usually try to vote between the early morning and lunch crowds.

Re: The Official I Voted Thread
I have now voted in two midterm elections. Still have yet to vote for president. Voted for every Democrat except that one chick for MSU board. Yes on every prop. Left the rest of the sections blank because I'm a low information voter and I can't be bothered to try and choose the most liberal sounding name when no party is listed.
I feel kinda dirty, but I voted to legalize weed, so everything is okay.
I didn'5 get a sticker. They were sitting on a table, but I was waiting for someone to affix it to my lapel like a medal on a war hero. When nobody did, I just walked out a little sad.
