Beilein's offense lives and dies on outside shooting and typically needs at least a SF and a SG to shot 40% plus from the arc to win. When they play a rebounding team that can push the pace after a miss you get 5 players bailing out after the shot to get back on defense.

Beilein recruits to fit his offense. Ironically EL's Brandon Johns (6'8"/225#) eschewed Izzo's early offer and ended up in aa. Johns played in 23 games, logged 105 minutes

Meanwhile due to injuries, MSU freshman fared better:
