Re: LSU Discussion thread
Maryland switched from a man-to-man defense to a zone and, for 15 minutes of game time, LSU didn't adjust. During that time Maryland erased a 15 point margin and took the lead for a while.
LSU is a poorly coached team.

Re: LSU Discussion thread
I watched one half of basketball. There was not a ton of evidence either way. It was my impression that they were not a team that runs offensive sets or that had any real plan on offense, and the coach basically admitted that their plan was to give it to their PG and let him go to work for the last play.
Comparoni does a really good job into getting into film of tourney opponents. Legit looking forward to reading this when he comes out with it. I'll let you know what he says, he knows a lot more than any of us. (aside from Nigel)

Just read that and it has the same view as Clarett Folley.
***Sarcasm warning*** I know Dwane Stephens went out and studied the zone in the off season. Maybe we should throw it at them this weekend.

The writer said LSU couldn't solve a zone all season. Maybe Maryland should have played zone from the start...

Let me be the first to say that there is zero fucking chance we play zone. I know no one really said that we would, just saying. Water is also wet. Or makes things wet

I think everyone here realizes that. What I do find interesting, though, is the bind LSU's coaching staff is now in. Do you spend time working on zone beaters knowing that your next opponent likely won't play one posession's worth of zone or do you ignore your most glaring weakness and hope that MSU doesn't break script and attack your Achilles heel? It would almost be better for LSU if they were about to face a zone-heavy team.

I get the MSU will not play a zone. but if it's obvious that LSU struggles against a zone don't you maybe try it for a couple possessions just to see if they can beat it?

Water itself is not wet. Read a book or two.
noun
noun: wet
1.
liquid that makes something damp.
Edited to add; I've read lots of books. Chemistry, physics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, etc.

Did you forget to read your definition that you posted while buried in those books? Makes something damp. Is not damp itself.

My favorite year of basketball was in 7th grade when our coach told us we'd run a grand total of 0 plays all year. Just go out there and play. Lost 1 game all year. RIP Mr Reed

My kid's JV team didn't run a play all year... Won 1 game. They suck ass. Ball hog point guard, a stretch 3 who thought he was Iverson because he shot 15% (put up 30 shots) BUT HE WAS HIGH SCORER! my kid says, like a dumbass...
Couldn't team defend to save their lives. The point and the HIGH SCORER were both lazy defenders and left everyone scurrying around trying to cover for their ass...
All this said to prove, coaching matters, even if don't have a "play".
(And 1 simple successful switch on a pick... which Izzo demands... on that last play, and we are prepping to DESTROY Maryland again.)

Is this guy on meth?
Or has he just been reading duffy's posts on swill?
And it may yet still — assuming MSU gets the chance in the first place. But in this year’s bracket, staring down those ghostly tormentors isn’t what unsettles. It’s the potential game after, in the semifinals, where — gasp! — the rivals down the road might await.
It’s a matchup that Michigan fans would crave while MSU fans would dread. Not that beating U-M again wouldn’t be thrilling.
But a loss in that moment, after slaying the mighty Coach K? That would give any Wolverine a generation’s worth of smack talk — especially if U-M won the title — and the most meaningful win in either football or basketball in the last 30 years.
MSU might have to close. Izzo might have to drive up to Iron Mountain to find space to howl, and then build a cabin in the woods, then never leave.
However unlikely the scenario — both teams will be underdogs in the regional final; and they have to win tough regional semifinal games first — you can feel a stir in the psychic continuum of this rivalry.
