Spotted at a local dealership shopping for a new, loaded dodge charger. Sticker around 42k.

He gone.

Not going to buy into that kind of rumor or speculation, but it would not surprise me one bit. Writing has been on the wall since Tillman's stock rose in the last half of the season. Ward will be a sixth or seventh option next year and he knows it.

Sucks if true though. Would've been great depth to have down low. Not sure how the attitude would have survived a whole season of being a bench player.

My source is pretty strong Seerock. Does this mean he's gone? Not necessarily but he definitely is buying s sweet ride.

Depends if buying or leasing. Parents name on the title or his? But yeah, if what we hear about him and school is true, he’s gone.

Thanks for the memories, Nick Ward. Fun player to watch and I hope he has a breakthrough in his game that lands him in the league.

I don't either unless they planned on a lineup with both X and Ward on the floor at the same time. I think X has surpassed Ward in terms of ability and Izzo is committed to more 4-out sets.

I don't know how minutes would break down but I expect Ward and Tillman would share the court on occasion but as an exception as opposed to a rule.

This is kind of how I saw it playing out as well. Hey, who knows, maybe Tillman turns out to be a great stretch 4 and games like Goins+. Then we stick Ward down low to bang away in the post. Or, maybe we tried that several times this year and it wasn't as effective as rotating them. Or, maybe I'm an idiot and don't know shit about basketball.

Probably the latter.

I think I would like that, but I'm not convinced Izzo would go that small. I think Ward and Tillman both start if Ward comes back, and Ahrens comes off the bench.

I don't think Izzo views that as small. Henry is essentially the same size as Alan Anderson and he logged heavy minutes at the 4 for us. Like others have said, though, we've had Ward, Tillman, and Goins on the floor at the same time this year so I'm sure we can make it work no matter the personnel.

Who comes in for Ward when he's gassed after two times running the floor on a break then misses two consecutive defensive assignments? I think Izzo knows Wards role with Tillman's emergence. It's to spell Tillman with a back to the basket twist. I'm guessing Ward knows how Izzo feels as well. Hence, mid level sedan.....

Tillman played last year.

You think Izzo will play 4 out with 1 big?

I don't think he did that when Ward was hurt. Kithier played 11, 11, 10, 19, and 8 minutes when Ward was out.

Total minutes for Goins, Tillman, and Kithier in those games was 79, 80, 80, 76, and 80. When was Henry logging heavy minutes at the 4 if he wasn't doing it when Ward was out?

You'd start Ahrens over Ward? Based on what? Because you think Izzo wants to play 4 out?

Ward was still hurt when he came back. That had something to do with him not starting.

Except that Tillman didn't factor into the equation in either of those years.

Solid post. I don’t think we make a FF run without a dinged up Nick Ward making his return. If Nick Ward makes a return next year he is playing a lot of minutes and will be a valuable piece to have.
