I couldn't make it all the way through that article. Does this guy call his wife mother too? Also, if there were going to be photographers along, wouldn't that have satisfied the need for a chaperone?

The fact that he seems to have needed a photographed chaperone makes this seem more performative than sincere, which might be even weirder. Hard to say, I guess, it's pretty fucking weird either way.
