Old guys swimming naked in HS gym class - talk about it

Was this a thing any of you olds were subjected to?

My gym teacher in high school was a former Bears TE. So no. Plus he was really pretty progressive about privacy and shit. Good guy.

Not you Roc. I'm talking the olds in their 60s. This was a real thing that used to be common, in like the 50s and 60s.

You mean that old guys swam naked with the kids, or when the old guys were kids they had to swim naked?

Yes, when my Dad was in HS they had to swim naked during gym class. No one knows his actual age but based on when he claims it is this would have been late 50's.

Then again when they made us swim in HS gym class it was an unheated outdoor pool that was cold as fuck. No one in their right mind would willingly jump in, nekked or not.

When I was a life guard at the IM, there was an old guy that spent an inordinate amount of time in the showers.....staring

I thought this was insane when my dad told me about it 30 years ago. Today it's almost sex abuse type of stuff. I told my kid to ask my dad about it next time we see him.

The way I heard it, boys and girls were separated, and both groups swam nekked...and the instructors had to try to evaluate, and excuse, the ladies when Aunt Flo paid a visit.

Never heard of that in my life. However, my dad's HS graduating class had only 5 kids, so I dont think their school had a pool.

Maybe this is why old dudes at the MAC would casually walk around the lockerrooms completely naked and plop down in the hot tub, totally freballing. I decided not to join after seeing that on a trial membership.

Yup, I had to in Jr. High, and the gym teacher would actually run his hands over you for "soap check." Fucking creepy. I worked in the same school system for 30+ years after graduating. I asked one of my old gym teachers when we were drinking and playing cards one night about "soap check." He chuckled and never said a word about it. He was a cool guy, and I think he was embarrassed.

Once, when the football team was taking their showers, the little fat school principal came and took a shower with us. That was even creepier. Mind you, the staff had their own showers...
