Vintage Sports-Related TV Commercials..
was telling my wife about this one the other day. I just remember Earl Campbell saying "Skoal, brutha" -
I forgot about him seeing the pretty girl on the beach with a football and him saying "I think I'll play some touch". Doubt that would go over well these days.

and if you were born before, say, 1972 and don't remember this one, you need to seek professional help.

My all time favorite commercial. It’s legendary around these parts to us old people. (Bob, sorry if you already posted this. For some reason, I’m unable to view the spots you posted.)

Pretty sure it wasn’t Trowbridge. IIRC, that location had a smooth white exterior its entire life. The QD in the spot is brick. Plus, in the shot of Earvin talking as he’s entering the building, it looks like nothing but woods through the glass. If it was Trowbridge, we’d see stores like Goodrich’s (RIP).
Edited to add a caveat for my rapidly fading memory.

Wasn’t there an old commercial with shaving cream being so thick it could stop a roller coaster?

Not a vintage commercial, but a lot of vintage players.

Is riding a roller coaster now considered a sport, Steve? You’re so silly.

They had one with a big football player running through the cream. If you watch the link I posted above they have a swim suit model going into shaving cream as well and yes I consider that a sport since SI devotes an issue to it every year.

I actually remember this commercial, and I was only five or six years old.

Was that his first commercial? Didn't he win an Emmy for that fine acting?

I thought there was one for QD before this one, but I’m probably mistaken. This one was probably right after he declared. And he def won an Addie for his effort.
