Thank you Mark Dantonio. Not sure I’ll ever see a 56 win decade.

That's the game that everyone seems to forget that it was a tie game at that point.

Another fun fact. Even if we lost in OT we still would of went to Indy. I would of rather won the rematch.

Me too. I was at both of those games. That Indy game was such a punch in the stomach. I was envisioning a trip to the Rose Bowl. Luckily we got that trip a few years later.

Re: Big Ten Standings This Decade
I kind of have a pet peeve against these type of lists; because the decade thing is an artificial time frame mainly as it begins and ends on arbitrary dates>
I like to look at rolling 5 or 10 year periods that don't have to start on a year with a 1 or end with a year that ends in 0
Based looking at those periods:
Coach D's best 10 year period is 2008-17 with 57 B1G wins 93 total wins
his best 4 years period 2011-15 with 32 B1G wins, 54 wins 2010-14 32 B1G, 53 total
And some of you might like this - as i responded to a UM fan on the twitter string who downplayed it as MSU's best decade and how scUM was still only a few games behind. So I pointed out his great memory and that the Piss & Blue's best decade was 1898-1907

Re: Big Ten Standings This Decade
The sweet spot of all of this is when we used to hold up signs and football and basketball games calling out the number of days since UofM has won vs MSU. That was the best burn of them all.

With the 9 game conference schedule, only need a 6-3 average to beat it.

Seeing that only two teams this past decade have been able to muster that up, and one of them is in the very weak West, I'd maybe leave the word "only" out of that sentence, maybe just say they need to have a 6-3 average to beat it.
But like anybody, I hate these arbitrary choices of years. So many factors from coaching switches to schedules have a ton of stuff to do with it. If you look at the numbers posted, you certainly can say "for the past ten years, OSU fans have enjoyed the most victories in the big ten" or "Illinois fans have been most miserable." But look at where Minnesota and Illinois are at this year, and compare them to where MSU is at this year. Which program would you rather have right now?

9 game schedule started in 2016.
So, three teams have had a .66% winning percentage in the past decade. One, MSU is right at it. Two, Wisconsin and OSU are over. It's just not that easy to get there in my opinion. Unless, of course, you're OSU or playing in the west.

Well put. Even with our best coach let down season happen.
