Sen. Peter Lucido, R-Shelby Township, made the comments outside the Senate chamber Tuesday to a reporter from the Michigan Advance, while surrounded by a group of male high school students from De La Salle Collegiate in Warren.

"You’ve heard of De La Salle, right?” the Michigan Advance quoted Lucido as asking reporter Allison Donahue.

When Donahue said she had not, Lucido said: “It’s an all boys’ school,” adding: “You should hang around! You could have a lot of fun with these boys, or they could have a lot of fun with you.”

Turtleneck how many articles have you read in the New York Times where a reporter goes to a working class diner in a midwestern trump county? Of the 537 of those articles they’ve done chances are that 30-40% have been in or around Shelby township.

I thought I read that the term limits has basically given the lobbyist all the power, since the elected officials don't care and those are the guys coming to them with money.

yep. term limits are a good idea on the surface, but don't work the way they are allegedly intended. all the reps/senators are just in it for a lobbying or other gig once their time is up. they have absolutely zero incentive to engage in any hard work or long-term planning.

there's no time for them to develop relationships with their fellow lawmakers and actually get some decent experience. it stops people who generally care about public service from pursuing those positions.

it's an absolute mess.
