Seriously, so yesterday on my facebook page, some of my high school friends who never left Manistee were in a post chain bitching about us coming up north. Not joking, like they forgot they have friends who moved down here. some of the shit they were saying. Did you know we're called "those people"? Had to be about 20 comments in one thread before I chimed in. "Hey, you SOB's".

I really do think there is a bit of fear up there. My sister claims there are currently zero cases in Manistee county. I don't know if it's true or not. I stopped keeping count a month ago.

As a Leelanau County resident who works in healthcare, somehow this scene is on my mind today....

P.S. Please note COVID-19 cases are reported by county of residence, not county where the patient is quarantining or even located. The number of cases "in" northern Michigan is much higher than reported as a result.

We got a lake. A pretty big one at that. It’s kinda cold this time of year. It’s good for swimming for about a month in late July and early August.
