Been thinking about this some more. It’s actually a great question. Not only was Sesame Street Maria a crush, but around the same time, maybe earlier, there was Maria from West Side Story. I recall having it bad for her, more than tv Maria. Had no idea until later in life it was Natalie Wood, who wasn’t Latina at all. Does it still count?

I just googled Natalie Wood. True, she wasn’t Latina, but she was born Natalia Nikolaevna Zakharenko, child of Russian immigrants. Now, it may not be true now, what with all the Russian sleeper spies living here, but she was a minority. I’m counting it.
