I never used Forum Spy and I recall some requests for a similar tool in the early days of tSwill, so I'm asking....is the ”Last" button on mobile basically the same thing?

Forum Spy was asynchronous. You opened it up, and it automatically prepended new posts to the top of the page (or div) every X seconds. Each post had a link to it's position in the thread. Something like that.

Not sure when this happened, or if anyone noticed, but it exists. Sort of. It's not asynchronous. You have to refresh. On mobile it's below the list of forums on the Discussions page and the home page. On desktop there's a 'View posts since last visit' link on the Discussions page and the home page.

Not sure either when it showed up or if has been there all along, but I've been using that on mobile for what seems like a few months. It's pretty handy.
