I guess I'm just curious why this hasn't been a discussion on here yet, what exactly has she done for MSU but smear its athletics members that grants her homecoming grand marshal status

We should have gone with Kermit the Frog again.

In a separate thread I recommended Trevor. Its the least 247 could have done for him

I'm more concerned that Jamele Hill qualifies as a "famous" alumnus now.
I only know who she is because of tRCMB.

The grand marshal's float will be shaped like a giant bed with Jemelle sitting in a hot tub right in the middle of it.

The next time I'm at a homecoming parade will be the first time I'm at a homecoming parade. We're at some bar drinking with old friends and lying to each other. If they yank her out on the field at halftime I'll be taking a leak.

Whoever Ms. Hill has as an agent should be congratulated. Count me as one who has never seen her insight or writing as something above average.
The Detroit market has had some very good writers over the past 20 years. A few have stayed and others have taken jobs elsewhere but Ms. Hill is average at best.

Think I've accidnetally stumbled upon it a couple of times whilst switching bars during Friday Happy Hour.

If you could fire one who would it be? Jamelle Hill, Drew Sharp or Mitch Albom?

I think I gathered that she is grand marshall of the homecoming parade?
I have never understood her career trajectory. At least the last time I saw her on ESPN I wasn't completely embarrassed which was a first.

I do. She's black AND female and just so happens to cover men's sports.
Basically the same thing would have happened to me if I was into music and joined a church TV choir.

That is what I always figured but didn't really want to go there. There must be plenty of other female/black journalists out there. It is like they just drew her out of a hat. I couldn't stand her articles on the freep and they were generally pro MSU. Now she is all over ESPN.

Not actual degreed journalist who once covered sports, and no prior TV or radio experience. She's perfect for live TV!

Meh, I don't really enjoy her journalism, but she did what she did to get where she's at. I don't begrudge her that.
Don't hate, just ignore.

Not Sharp. He is smarter than he appears because he knows how to draw readers.

She was a columnist covering anything but sports. Walk me thru the logic that it enables you to jump right into a TV gig. Provide some other examples of who else blazed that career path?

The fukc, like I follow that stuff. I really don't care. Like I say, i don't really care for her journalism and the few times I've surfed across her on T.V. she seems average, but she parlayed what she did somehow into a well paying gig. Who am I to begrudge her that. Like I say, don't hate it, just ignore it or don't watch it. I just don't care.

It's TV. There's a lot of stations. Somebody thought she would be good on TV. The walk is now over.

I think you're right. But, it did get me to wondering...has it been a while since there was a black Grand Marshall of the Homecoming Parade? Surely, an athlete?

Surely Bubba Smith, 1985 can't be the last one?

I wasn't sure what this thread was about, so I did a Google search for her. One of the first suggested search topics that comes up is "Jemele Hill body."

Fitting considering that was and is her favorite topic.
The State News should re-print some of her best race-baiting columns from back in the day as a tribute.
