I’ve seen very little of this team play, but my answer would be the loss of two players now in the nba. That’s a huge loss, and these guys are probably still finding their way. Plus, Cash and X were big personalities, the heart and soul of the team. That’s another void needing to be filled.

What happened though... Watts had games no one could guard him last year... Not even flashes this year. Fkn Hauser avgd what at Marquette? Consistency has always been Henry's deal... Shit. They just shouldn't suck so bad.

IMO this team hasn’t looked the same since the Virginia game got cancelled. Not hitting shots and just look checked out.

Haven’t played in weeks either and who knows what kind of practices they’ve been able to hold with the players out with Covid.

I watched the Izzo presser. Surprisingly calm. Maybe he's just trying to put a spin on things because of the circumstances but he basically said today was a fluke and they're not going to turn the ball over like that again. And combine that with missing so many open looks...

Agree with Steve.
No one knows the order of players illness, who could practice and when.
This did not look one of Izzo’s strongest teams before the season began. My opinion is COVID protocols have affected player development and ability to play as a cohesive unit.

No doubt Izzo is at his wits end. He’s never had a roster with so many highly rated players coming out of HS that aren’t looking like upper division Big Ten players. It’s like the roster has several players like Isaiah Dahlman who just never became the player he was projected to be.

Then toss Watts who starts the season penciled in to play PG and a few weeks ago says he’s not comfortable playing PG.

Izzo was going to have a challenging season before COVID. Now it appears he’s running out of time to right the ship.

Honestly haven't been that tuned in but I don't think that's accurate OTPT. Different problems in different games. They've been bad but for three games its defense and then the next game it's shooting and tonight it was turnovers. I think that's where he's going.

Sometimes you have a good post or three but there's an entirely separate thread where you and GW are e-sucking each other off over Gavin Schilling time zone jokes. The two flaws are not mutually inclusive.

Possible. I thought early in the season rocket was doing unbelievable stuff. Creating three point shots off the dribble and stepping back. I don’t even care really. There’s a lot of bigger problems out there right now and this isn’t the first college team to drastically underperform during the pandemic. My thoughts are I hope the fans consider mental health, lack of practices and maybe this year is more difficult for college athletes than we understand. I see twitter mobs calling for players to never see the floor again. Just doesn’t seem like the right year for it in my view.

Last night was similar to the Minnesota game. Just awful shooting. Plus turnovers.

They played like they hadn't practiced in awhile.
