Gotcha. Not to rain on your parade, but Jack has 3 in PGA Tour events and 20 total including non tour rounds.

I like the World Cup. It’s funny to go to Williamsburg and see all the hipsters walking around with their favorite non American soccer Jersey on during the tournament.

As far as soccer for most people I think it’s just about having a team to root for, which is why the World Cup draws people in here. I find a football game where I don’t have a rooting interest to be just as, actually more, boring than a soccer game where I don’t have a rooting interest. I typically don’t watch either

Not really but I could see why you might think that. I do find the golf controversies highly entertaining and will usually dive in on them the day after they happen. I saw the John Rahm one unfold because I watched the end of the tournament that ran over into 60 Minutes and I watched the last hole or two waiting for 60 Minutes to start.

I just like them because there's all this talk about 'honor' and 'integrity' in the sport of golf which I think is a crock of shit and then everyone puts the moment under this ridiculously powerful microscope and then breaks down the slightest move of a dimple on a golf ball. I find it to be top notch entertainment and fascinating to watch people get so OCD about these moments.

I think the last time I get interested in watching was the Phil an Tiger match with Brady and Manning. I watched the first six holes or so but I was starving for sports. Prior to that I watched a bit of the last round when Tiger won the masters.

If you don't like a sport to begin with, or don't care that much about a sport, then a rooting interest will cause people to pay more attention. That's true of any sport. See the NCAA Tournament as the perfect example due to office pools/bracket challenges.

Soccer isnt boring without a rooting interest if you enjoy the game to begin with. Same with football, basketball, baseball, etc. All are boring without a rooting interest if you dont really know the rules, know the game, appreciate the aspects of the game, etc. And some people think those sports are boring even if you do know/appreciate that. This is not to say, "if you understood soccer, you would love it." Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't. I know and appreciate baseball, but dont really have an interest in watching if I'm not rooting for anyone. To a lesser extent with basketball. Football, hockey, and soccer I enjoy watching no matter who is playing.

I used to go to Red Bull MLS games. Could get tickets for under $10 and I found it to be a bargain for live entertainment. Soccer grows on you if you give it a chance. Even went out to Long Island to see a few Cosmos games.

I've been to a couple USL games. They were fun. It's great live, but hard for me to watch on the TV.

Yeah, that’s true. I don’t watch MLS on tv. It’s usually about the tailgating with a group of friends and the atmosphere of the live event.
