Shooting at the Capital

Looks like something just went down.

Definitely a shooting.

I realize I'm an ass for thinking it but if this is gonna start to be the norm in DC, might as well start an "I hope it's XYZ" list.

No mention of a shooting in this, looks like someone tried to run down some cops with their vehicle maybe.

Rammed the barricade and exited vehicle with a knife. Not surprised he got shot dead, just have to wonder if the ultimate plan was suicide by cop.

One of the capital officers stabbed has died.

DC is a gun free zone. The perp used a knife. Killed an officer. If the gun free zone law had ANY part in preventing the perp from obtaining a gun and killing many more then damn straight it's a good law and helps prevent more deaths.

my guess is the cops on the scene approached the guy with guns drawn.. if he's holding a knife, he ain't gonna stand a chance at stabbing the cop to death at that point.

but, yeah, we'll wait on official word. Sucks.

This, though absolutely correct, is not how the gun freaks will frame it. They'll say "KILLED WITH A KNIFE! OUTLAW & CONFISCATE KNIVES!!

So he wasn't armed and therefore it's no big deal.
