Something similar happened in our neighborhood, except instead of a garage door, it was split rail fencing. No idea if the kid was backing out or pulling in, but he gassed it, took out one side of the fence, did a lawn job on a small part of his parent’s backyard, then took out another section of fencing before stopping several feet into the neighbor’s yard. Oops.

One of my sons bought a used 04 Pontiac GTO...manual transmission.  Styling was sorta plain-Jane, but they were powerful and pretty quick.

Was in the garage with the doors closed one day.  Heard him leave out the front door of the house and get in the car.  BANG! goes one of the garage doors, which I was behind at the time.  Sphincter puckered so fast was unable to shit my pants.

Destroyed the door but managed to stop only a couple feet in. Started the car without his foot on the clutch and it lurched into the door.  Only a few scratches on the car. Learned his lesson to not do that again...made him pay for a new garage door.
