Re: French Open
Thiem must suck on clay. He flamed out the other week in Lyon as well.
The one to watch is Tsitsipas, he's had epic matches vs Nadal and Djokovic with very narrow losses. Will be interesting to see how he fares in five set matches.
Zverev had an epic outting in Madrid and has shown some flashes of brilliance on clay as well.
My top three for the tournament are Nadal, Djokovic and Tsitsipas and I'm picking Djokovic to take it.

Can't have it both ways.
Is she feels withdrawing is better for her mental health though, she definately should.

Why is it ironic? Is he a mental health expert? It would be as ignorant as Tom cruise the mental health expert.

It might be ironic because he refused to speak to the media

But it's not. It's her choice. He still speaks to the media. I'm sure there's a ton of legal exposure making comments about the subject of her withdrawing because of mental health issues.

I mean I get it if Osaka has mental health issues then get well and do what you gotta do but this whole not talking to the media thing is just weird to me. It's part of the job and we all do shit that isn't fun.
I have to talk on zoom calls and to people all the time at my job that I don't want to and I do it because it's part of my livelihood. I say go up there and answer the questions.

She's a professional tennis player. Success on the court is all that matters. In no way should the media be part of her livelihood.

It's in the contract they agree to when playing these tournaments. We keep saying these players should have a voice outside of "just dribble the damn ball" and she's had that. But to be fair your have accept both sides. People have questions about tennis and other things that are important to you. She's on record that talking about loses is bad for players mental health. Thats odd if you ask me. That being said, if she would rather withdraw then play for mental health reasons, more power to her.

Sorry but doing cheesy interviews is just a part of big time sports and you'd miss it if it were gone.

I'd find it harder to play a match on tv in front of millions and in an arena with 19,000 people than to answer a few dumb questions about the match.

Re: French Open
Medvedev actually winning on clay is kind of shocking. I’m sticking with my forecast from a few posts ago. Tsitsipas looking like he can handle the five set matches and sustaining a high level of tennis. He had some epic matches vs Nadal and Djokovic on clay in the past month. Zverev has shown potential as well. Next week should be fun.

Got to see him play 2019 US Open. He did one of his 360 overheads at the net and brought down the house. He’s pure class and one of those players I alway hope will do well.

Serena in good position to win the tournament with top 3 seeds out. On the men's side of course Nadal is the overwhelming favorite but don't count out Zverev or Tsisipas. Both are great young players.

I had Tsisipas once. Pretty sure it came from bad mushrooms on my Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and gravy.

I just heard (and then read) today that her net worth is upwards of $60 mil. This claims earnings of $55 mil this year alone. Good coin for swinging a racket.
"It's been a historic year for tennis star Naomi Osaka, 23, who recently made headlines for earning a record $55.2 million total over the last 12 months, "more than any female athlete in history," per Sportico."

Playing in dirt is one of my favorite things, but if I had to play on clay, with my hands getting dusty all the time, it would drive me nuts. Hands all muddy from gardening? No problem. Hands all dusty from clay? Call a shrink cuz I’m about to go full on OCD.

No, thanks. I’d like to try playing on a grass court, though.
