Riden with the Biden Economy
WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits plunged last week to the lowest level in 52 years, more evidence that the U.S. job market is recovering from last year’s coronavirus recession.
1.1 million more people reported having jobs last month than the month before in the latest BLS report.
Riden with Biden.

I was ridin’ with Biden before you were, Trap. The only thing keeping this economy from exploding is Covid. Which is why Republicans are willing to die to keep it going. They couldn’t stand to see “Sleepy Joe” succeed.

while the christian right celebrates school shootings while passing racist voter suppression laws, Democrats create jobs, infrastructure and an economy nobody thought possible during a pandemic.
now, if the mainstream media would cover it to the degree they cover the right wing christian 'culture war' clickbait, maybe America could see whose side the Democrats are on.
(yes, I realize that the mainstream media will never, ever.. under any circumstances, provide fair coverage of Democrat policies and successes).

Yes, you were.
I'm liken that Biden had Senator Warren provide staffing recommendations, many of which he used, and that he is having Senator Sanders lead in the Senate on proposing economic bills.
I guess those 30 some years in Washington were good training for him.
Re: Riden with the Biden Economy
4 out of 10 Americans approve of Xiden's job performance. Given the state of affairs: inflation, school shootings, record COVID deaths, foreign policy debacles, open borders; it is a testament to the party loyalty of people like Trapper, Penn, Bob S that the number is that high.

inflation - all due to Trump screwing up on covid
school shootings - all due to your support of guns for everyone
Covid Deaths - all due to Republican refusals to vaccinate & Trumps screwups
Foreign Policy Debacles - Biden brought our troops home
Open Borders? -
edit - of course people who don't pay attention just blame the current President, so his numbers are down

not surprising to watch the right wing spew their mainstream media talking points.
the Biden economy has created over 5 million jobs in 10 months. It's sad, though not at all shocking, that this news drives Republicans absolutely insane.
I bet poor 'ol Guest is seething.. I hope he can switch off the TV and spend some time outside.

Had to post this here for RQA since he is super concerned about the President's polling numbers.
Today - Biden approval back up to 48% in latest Ipsos poll, fun fact: 4 yrs ago in exact same Ipsos December poll, Trump was at 33%

Republicans hated the “poll” taken on November 3rd of last year so much they have been working non stop to get it changed (unsuccessfully).Trapper Gus wrote:Had to post this here for RQA since he is super concerned about the President's polling numbers.

They are mostly past that and planning to keep "those uppity poor people" from voting in 2022.
Re: Riden with the Biden Economy
Trump paused student loan payments. I'd have to double check, but he also sent out like $1600-1800 stimmy checks (first was $1000-1200ish, last was $600, right?). Biden sent out $1400 and is restarting loan payments. I'm not saying I regret my vote, but I also won't forget this come 2022/2024.

A stimulus check and student loan pausing (because he helped created the need for them) are not what I'll remember most from 2016-2020

I'm just saying I wouldn't be mad at Biden over it. Congress? Sure. If he had the votes to forgive the debt, he'd sign a bill today.

I'm no expert, and the trend towards Executice Orders is probably not the best thing for our government, but doing nothing, then throwing your hands up and saying "blame congress" is not inspiring leadership and doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. At least pretend to try.

Re: Riden with the Biden Economy
Hindsight being 20-20 student loan forgiveness is a pipe dream. I'd rather see that money in the hands of people spending it instead of government, though.

Re: Riden with the Biden Economy
Biden is trying to straighten out the mess in the Dept of Ed regarding student loan forgiveness for those who qualified but who were screwed by DoVoss and her lap dog, Donald.
btw - not a real fan of this method of paying back loans, however inflation makes them cheaper over time.

The administration has erased or is in the process of discharging $12.7 billion in student debt for more than 638,000 borrowers with permanent disabilities, students defrauded by for-profit colleges or who attended schools that were forced to close, and individuals who completed a decade of public service.

I'm waiting to see if this is all political timing.
Let's see what Biden does after the BBB is passed.
(And eliminating $12.7 Billion in student debt is no small thing)
