Okay, I’m now being told this isn’t actually Christmas morning. Oops.
Never mind.

I had a bit of an upset tummy this morning and so I'm anticipating a less than ideal bowel movement.

I wish Santa was real.
Fuck Christmas. Stupid fucking materialistic shit that people obsess over. This time of year just pisses me off.

Santa is as real as people want him to be, just like the Gods.
We still put up our stockings each year, and each year Santa still fills them up, with, usually, an orange at the bottom.
"We" in this case, are OTD and there are no kids around.
The season is what you make it.

Dendro sounds like someone who needs a nice steaming hot pint of hot chocolate with 2-3 shots of Baileys or peppermint schnapps for Holiday cheer.

I know, I'm a scrooge. I really dislike Christmas time. I like it only for my kids. But I need to work on my older one helping others and less about gifts.

That’s a lousy gift. Better to get coal.

Thankfully, we’re giving each other only one gift this year. The rest we’ll buy things for our home. Neither of us want or need “stuff.”

There are lots of ways to show that helping others is good at Christmas. Food Banks, Coats for the Cold, Toys for Tots. Have at it and get your kids involved with the giving.

Well, I was referring to Mrs. GreenWay and me. I’d happily accept any gift from you, Travis, except an STD. Not again.

My wife and I delivered meals to shut-ins for the VOA every Christmas for years. Really enjoyed it.

Marley's been dead these seven years now Dendro. Time to get over it and give the kid the whole week off.

You do make a good point, but the Christmas season hasn’t been the same for us since our first dog died in December eleven years ago. We’re only now sort of getting back into it. Can’t make those feelings go away.

Re: Merry Christmas! What did a Santa bring you?
I figured out what I want for Christmas.
I want a nanny. And preferably a hot one, because I want eye candy too

Really the question is, what are you giving the poor and undeserving for Christmas?
btw - if you have young children I get the nanny thing, hot, or not.
I knew a kid who walked in on his father and a babysitter, so be careful what you ask for ...

I want to do more physically, and I plan on it when the girls (1 & 4) are older. Right now, I just donate some money. I plan to get my kids very involved in helping out when they're older.

Nanny.
If I had money, I'd have a pool boy. And then get a pool

Re: Merry Christmas! What did a Santa bring you?
Honestly, telling kids the Santa lie is horrible. Why are you telling your kids there is an old man who watches them all year to decide if they are good or bad? First, it is creepy. An old man watching your kids all year? Really? Does that sound like a good thing to tell children? Also, the lie is meant to convince children to behave according to the parent's standards. It is manipulative and authoritarian parenting.
As for Christmas as a whole, the fake cheer and joy are nauseating. Most of the year we hate each other, but for one month we suddenly find it in our hearts to love one another. It's so fake. I wish we could just cancel the whole thing and continue to tell each other to fuck off as usual.

Kids pick up on what their parents do at a very young age ... get out there and help the poor and your kids will too.
