For the majority of people in Michigan it's very true that when you hit Clare, you get rid of the Sagnasty, the three lanes of I-75 and the buildings and flat land and after you've done the rest stop there you start seeing trees and hills and a two lane I-75 and traffic is less sparse, so I see where many people think that because our heavy population is down south of that. However, there a a shit ton of people who grew up north of clare and just can't wrap their mind around that. Never will. As a kid, when I had to travel 2 1/2 hours south to play clare in football, I don't think I"ll ever think of it as the door to the north. I think of clare as a rest stop, a big rest stop. (BTW, one night at 2 a.m. I stopped there and was the only one in the lot or in the john. I don't think I ever was there completely alone before. Creeped me out.)

I can understand that, and I agree. Clare isnt the fucking door to the North, it's the Gateway to the North. The Gateway. To. The. North. Clare. What's the matter with everybody? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
