Great, at least to me, analysis of Springsteen, and probably his greatest tune.

(I say "tune" as that is the standard moniker for jazz, and The Boss is much a jazz musician as a rocker)

yeah, "Rosalita" is always one of the highlights of their live shows. They've been playing it (I believe) every night on the current tour. I suspect we'll get "Detroit Medley" Wednesday night, as well.. probably part of encore.

Rosie does hit all the points, though. A bar room rocker, comedic at times, poignant, still.

The day I went back to work after the quarantine—July of 2020, I think it was—I played “Rosalita” in the car. I was sad about leaving home, but also happy to return to normalcy. I cranked the volume to the max and sang along as loud as I possibly could, cathartic tears rolling down my cheeks. I save that song for moments when I really need the jolt. I can’t handle that level of intensity every day. Bruce Springsteen can not only handle it, he can channel it. We are blinded by the light; he is the sun.

My top 5 Springsteen tunes always vary depending on my mood, but I'd definitely put this one into my top 10.

lots of debate in certain circles about the best version. Most, of course, are from the 70's to around 1980. Just unbridled energy and joy. This version stands out to me, 'cause Bruce damn near kills himself falling off a stack of speakers at around the 8:40 mark.

The Saline Music Program is one of the better school music programs in the state, this should be a fun concert.

The orchestra conductor at East Lansing HS is a professional musician himself and pretty hip. Always tries to incorporate some cool stuff within what is traditionally "stuffy" in the pantheon of classical composers.

Our daughter graduated in 2018, but one year (maybe her freshman or sophomore year), they covered Kashmir. It was pretty sweet.
