Like a Kansas Thunderstorm
the bolts are HEAVY over there lately, feels like every other post is a BOLT.

That's an awesome pic. I love thunderstorms, I judge summers in Miami based on how good they are.

I didn't take it, I did lightning shots once out in the cornfields west of town with my pro photographer buddy, its a pain in the ass, sit in the pitch dark, open shutter, hope it lightnings, close shutter, hope it didnt blow out, his turned out a hell of a lot better than mine

I've done the same. When I see a storm rolling in, I try to get outside, works mostly at night, obviously. But it is pretty damn boring. I ended up just going with the 30 second shutter speed. I got a few decent shots, but nothing earth shattering. Hardest part is trying to get it to focus in the dark.

My dad used to run outside with the camera every time it stormed and try to photograph lightning.
As a kid, I thought this was awesome and always ran out with him to "help".
