2023 MSU Baseball

We used to have these small threads about the current MSU baseball season. I think they stopped because because baseball wasn't being very good to us.

I mean, 2021 3rd from last in the B1G with overall record of 17-27 followed by next to last in 2022 with a slightly better 24-30.

I don't know a lot about this year's team but this looks like a different squad. Sitting in 3rd place right now, 6-3 B1G, 23-11 overall.

So let's see how they finish.

BTW, they play Fri/Sat/Sun against u of m (7-5, 19-17) at Fisher Stadium in AA. They beat u of m 15-8 in the 2023 MLB Desert Invitational back on Feb 17th at Sloan Park in Phoenix.

Thought that was eliminated with the stadium re-do, but I could be wrong. It was weird shagging flies in practice having to run up that incline. Took a lot to get used to.

Just spit ballin here, but what if we had empty water trucks ready to go with big shop vacs? Then, we suck up all the water and dump it out in the states with drought conditions! Boom! I’d drive one of the trucks.

Not much room between the fields and the Red Ceder to put a levy in, also wonder how porous the soil is, would the river just seep under the levy and make the field soggy?

Lost in the flood discussion (excellent, btw) was a 3-game sweep of Northwestern this weekend (8-3, 6-3, 9-2).

MSU sits in 2nd in the B1G at 10-5 behind 11-4 Maryland and one game ahead of a 3-way tie of 3rd place teams.

Overall record of 28-13 puts them at .683, behind Iowa (.738) and Indiana (.689).
