“Stunningly high” is a pretty good descriptor for a gun ownership rate that is 1/5th of ours.

Well they do have all those knives too. So, there’s that.

Don't the Swiss have a strong social safety net? Maybe the crazies have support to not get to the desperation/violence point.

The country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people.

In the US we have over 400 million privately owned guns in a nation of just over 330 million people.

Is Switzerland is "stunningly high" what are we?

Switzerland still has one of the highest rates of gun violence in Europe, and suicides account for most gun deaths in the country.

After reading the entire article the words "Well regulated" come to mind.

For most, if not all, of the regulations they mentioned in the article, if we tried to implement them here, conservatives would cry fascism and fight every step of the way.
