Who is coaching our bigs? I’m raising the red flag right now that we have some ineptitude on the staff. There are basic fundamentals and technical elements that every player should have at this level that our bigs don’t. Vs Michigan I witnessed our bigs miss easy shots under the basket that if they just banked off the glass they would go in. These guys are making the easiest shots in the world look incredibly difficult. Second our bigs can not catch passes in the paint. Last night I saw Cooper and Sissoko lose easy to catch balls at crucial points in the game. Who’s coaching these guys? Who? These should be easy problems to fix.

Second, last night Booker showed poise in the paint and made an easy basket. And catches the ball. This has a slight feel of playing Ben Carter over JJJr.

Last, during an important run Kohler posted up, got the ball, worked his man, and put up a brick from about eight feet out bringing a halt to our momentum. If this guy is making 5% of them at point blank range why even take that shot? He couldn’t even hit a free throw.

Because like all of you, I know way more than Izzo, I suggest that when AJ gets his shit together we just go small ball and play Hall at the 5 especially in crunch time.

There, that’s my suggestion. I once coached a couple JV basketball games, so if you tell me im full of it, you better list your credentials.

Does anyone have verifiable input on Izzo and his coaching delegation. We all remember his extremely hands on (no pun intended) style of coaching his players. Has he been delegating more to his assistants over the last four years or so? Just curious. He’s not a spring chicken, has grandkids, etc.

I'm guessing that those Hoggard stats were before last night's game.

We did go small ball last night at the end (maybe some more that I didn't notice). Needed the scoring, but couldn't get the stops. Of note...Plus/Minus...Mady and Coop were our only minus players in the 2nd half (both -4).

IMO this team lacks the week to week focus to be consistent.

Are they partying too much?

Or is it that they don't match up against certain types of lineups?

Izzo gave them a day off after beating UM. Vacation is over.
