Take off the back, it's got a spot for a micro sd card according to the specs. Can handle up to 128 gig.

I have an S4 and highly doubt the S5 is a POS. Maybe you took it in the pool too many times.

I have an S5. It absolutely has a slot for removable micro SD card. Get one. Use ES File Explorer to move your pictures to it. Profit.

Can't you just plug it in? Or is a Mac really not able to do this ?
