Um you do realize that the actors are separate from the characters they play, correct? Your point is stupid.

Always thought it was strange that their youngest daughter was Puerto Rican. Was fond of the middle daughter with the big tits myself.

Re: The Dad From 7th Heaven..
according to Wikipedia, a network called "Up" airs reruns of 7th Heaven. It is..
I'm guessing they'll rethink the decision to continue airing the show...
Up TV (short for "Uplifting Entertainment" and stylized as UP), formerly GMC TV and originally Gospel Music Channel, is an American satellite and cable television network founded originally to have a focus on gospel music and has expanded into family-friendly original movies, series and specials.
I'm guessing they'll rethink the decision to continue airing the show...

Re: The Dad From 7th Heaven..
The Parents Television Council often cited 7th Heaven among the top ten most family-friendly shows. The show was praised for its positive portrayal of a cleric and for promoting honesty, respect for parental authority, and the importance of a strong family and a good education through its storylines. It was proclaimed the best show in 1998-1999 by the Parents Television Council. The council also explained "7th Heaven manages to provide moral solutions to tough issues facing teenagers without seeming preachy or heavy-handed. Additionally, unlike most TV series, 7th Heaven shows the consequences of reckless and irresponsible behavior." It was also noted that "While addressing topics such as premarital sex and peer pressure, these parents [Annie and Eric] are eager to provide wise counsel along with love and understanding."
and.. more on the "Parents Television Council"...
The Parents Television Council (PTC) is a United States-based censorship advocacy group founded by Christian conservative activist L. Brent Bozell III in 1995.

Wait, so you're saying that people on a scripted TV show were not exactly like their characters? Almost as if they were "acting"? Thanks for their revelation. I won't be so fearful of Anthony Hopkins eating my face now.Robert J Sakimano wrote:

Actors are the most vapid people on the planet. Seriously, I've never met ONE that had any personality of his own. They are just fuck ups that have a talent for pretending to have depth. Sociopaths, every one.

I'm saying that the "Parents Television Council" - a pro-censorship, conservative christian group - believes it to be a wholesome, family-friendly show..

I suspect, though, that the "Parents Television Council" will now be much less celebratory when it comes to the wholesome, family-friendly nature of the show.

Probably. But more because of the memories and connotation that his presence on the screen would now carry, not because the content of a 15 year old show has magically changed. I could care less about the Parents Television Council, but it seems kind of silly to rip on them for supporting a program because of what one of the actors secretly did that no one knew about until now.Robert J Sakimano wrote:maybe, maybe not.

Re: The Dad From 7th Heaven..
A skilled contractor (PLC programmer) had been at my place of employment for a couple years. Worked with him on a couple projects. Smart, dependable, nice guy. Wife and 2 or 3 kids. Seemed completely normal.
He didn't show up to work one day a couple weeks ago so we called the contract house. They said they would contact him.
Turned out the guy got busted for child pornography...3rd offense. Had been in prison 4 years.
Never asked how he got the big scar on his cheek. Have since learned that is what prisoners do to pedophiles to mark them

They run around lecturing people who how vile Hollywood is.. and how we should shield our children from the Hollywood filth and flock to church.. (and, oh, by the way - donate money while you're there)..
all the while, extolling the virtues of a wholesome, family-friendly show like 7th Heaven - a Hollywood production, by the way - that happens to fall in line with their sick, twisted agenda..
as it turns out, the star of the show they've been using to manipulate their mind-numbed masses turns out to be the actual filth of Hollywood - not the ones they've spent their hypocritical lives warning us about...
so, yeah - if they want to run around telling people what to watch, by all means do it - there are millions of people out there who refuse to think for themselves, ceding their own free will to people like the "Parents Television Council" - just don't be shocked when people like me point out the christian hypocrisy.

Not disagreeing that there is hypocrisy with these groups. But how is it hypocritical when no one knew what he was doing? Did the Parents Television Council ever even mention this actor in their praise of the show? And even if they did, how are they to know what he's doing?Robert J Sakimano wrote:

If it comes out 10-15 years down the road that some kid on the MSU basketball team was secretly taking money from a booster, without the knowledge of Izzo, the coaching staff, or even his fellow players, am I a hypocrite for supporting Izzo and saying that I believe he runs a clean program?

my point is with the hypocrisy by the "Parents Television Council" - they demonize "Hollywood" and shows that might not adhere to their twisted agenda while, at the same time, promoting "Hollywood" and shows that do adhere to their twisted agenda..
it's kind of like the intellectual Fox News knuckle-draggers lamenting the evils of the "mainstream media" without even understanding that Fox News is the mainstream media..
now if you start with the hypothetical situations regarding MSU sports again, I'm not going to take it too well. Nothing I love more than 19-20 year old kids playing a sport at the school I just happened to attend.
you've been warned.

Fair enough. That's why I kept asking the questions, because it seemed like you were tying the content of the show to what the guy did. I see where you're coming from now. It would be like someone blasting all of college football or basketball for being dirty while saying that their school is 100% clean. Oh wait, that's the kind of hypothetical that you warned me about, right? My bad.Robert J Sakimano wrote:
