With UCLA, Georgia and Miss State going down today, we might still have an outside shot at consideration. Too bad TT missed knocking off Baylor.

Both OSU and Oregon played well against MSU and lucked-out with big broken plays. MSU had both teams down. Had MSU gone up 28-14, the game likely would have had a different outcome. Shoulda-coulda woulda, I know.

The thing that gets me is the TCU/Baylor and FSU crap. They all fiddle-fucked with shitty teams all year and are frauds. Sure, MSU lost 2 games- but they were competitive games from 2 bonifide top 5 teams with QB's that had great games. MSU dominated every other game and only a fluky Nebraska late surge made the score look closer.

Two things:

MSUs defense was exposed this year vs OSU and Oregon. Yes, those two teams when healthy have top 5 offenses nationally, but MSUs defense proved it wasn't up to the challenge. Our offense, although very good, just isn't quite good enough to get into the 40s in those games like we needed to.

MSU is a good, top 10 team. We are in line for a big bowl game against a fellow top 10 team and will have one last chance to prove THIS team can beat a really good team.
