Horrible.

Stupid. Do you actually listen to what she says or just process the fact in your brain that she's a woman broadcasting sports and thus....automatically = horrible.

Doris Burke is an excellent analyst. She knows as much or more than any basketball commentator this side of Bilas. Try to get past the tone of her pitch and listen to the actual words. It amazes me that people lump her in with Beth Mowins.

I have found myself muting a lot of games lately - both hoops and football. But I found she didn't really bother me much at all.
It got me thinking - can you imagine how annoying it would be if we had to listen to a chick rambling on with some shtick like Vitale or Dakitch?
I can't listen to those guys because I want to watch the game without some idiot blabbering the whole time at me

I call it like I see it, LWS. No agendas. Struck me a few years ago watching an NBA game. I usually don't pay attention to announcers much. Burke said a few things that struck me as meaningful during that game. I started listening closer. I was like - wow, she really studied these teams and knows her craft. I'm the type of guy who usually wouldn't be a fan... but I think she does a hell of a job and, even if we're just talking aesthetics, has a great voice for college basketball.

Agree.  She knows her shit and delivers games well.  Rarely think 'she's a chick' during a broadcast, unlike Beth.

I went MSU message board on her and the tv last night, and yelled "You shut your whore mouth!" while unbeknownst to me, my 8 yr old was upstairs heading to the bathroom, and heard me. Made for an awkward moment.

She does (sort of) know her stuff, but listening to a woman talk for 2 hours? Who wants to do that?

Yeah that's what sent me over the edge. She was all "agree with the no call " until the play by play guy was so adamant that a foul should have been called. Looked to me that the dude was losing the ball before contact. You would think a commentator could point that out.

I really do think she's a very good analyst. But they would not let the no-contact no-call go. That was really irritating. Nonetheless, she's mostly substance and I respect that.

Seriously. I dreaded seeing her when the ESPN presentation and shit started but outside of the foul at the end of regulation I disagreed on, she was great.
