This is the best offensive line Michigan State has had under Mark Dantonio.

It will be better next year.

Dantonio's program has developed stars and pros at every other position, but the construction of a top-shelf offensive line has taken him the longest. Even in MSU's 11-2, Big Ten championship season of 2010, the Spartans were exposed up front in a 49-7 loss to Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.

"I don't ever want to feel like I felt going into 2012 again," Staten said of a season marked by subpar offensive production and a 7-6 final record. "Where you don't have answers to questions you need seriously answered. And I felt that way in 2012. That was tough. We're not gonna feel that way again."

Last season's 13-1 Rose Bowl champions got more assertive up front as the season progressed, with Staten rotating eight players and finding success in it. Now MSU has stars in sophomore left tackle Jack Conklin and Allen — a USA TODAY All-America — and young players ready to emerge.

Yep. Having a strong OL is essential to having a consistently top team.

And there's great depth on both lines now. That's like wisconsin at the end of Barry's reign there. Awesome O-lines are sexy as shit.
