Paul McCartney is 72 years old now. I think it's a bit naive to think anyone under the age of 20-25 should know who he is. My parents were huge Beatles fans way back when and I learned about them in music classes. However, for anyone born in the 90s, there's a good chance their parents were born in the 70s. I don't think its reasonable to expect parents who grew up after the Beatles were already old news to then preach the gospel of the Beatles to their kids.

Well then they need to listen to a classic rock station. They've got the Beatles and McCartney on rotation every fifteen minutes.

I hate to break it to you, but the Beatles weren't exactly the musical geniuses today's baby boomers think they were. Just because you got you got your first HJ to Hey Jude doesn't mean later generations still have that same nostalgia guiding their opinion.

My kids might not. I have one of the beatles greatest hits anthologies on the network but I haven't forced it on them....

So many other things to force on them. Misfits. Ramones. They know who Jimi Hendrix is. Plus they have their own stuff I mostly refuse to acknowledge.

If not for Say Say Say I doubt I would've known who McCartney was before I got to college. Wasn't my genre. Why would I care? Wouldn't call myself a Beatles fan to this day even actually. Honestly, feel like they were right place, right time.
