When you have credit unions? Other than a national network of ATM's, tell me what advantage banks actually have, cause its definitely not rates or customer service

Banks are slightly more concerned with the business with a $10 million loan on the books than they are with you and your $76 check that says "thanks for the blumpkin" on the memo line. Credit unions don't have those bigger fish to fry.

Also, start using online banking like a grown up so this doesn't effect you anymore.

Banks are important for us ballers. Never have more than $250k with one bank, that's all the FDIC will insure. That's why you need accounts with multiple banks.

.....and i ve been online since 2004! This was is my first year with an actual physical branch. And yet they don't have a coin counter. Awesome business decision there. Glad to know they are investing my lower rates wisely

It is called liquid assets. I like to have large sums of money at my disposal quickly. Having them all wrapped up in stocks, bonds and funds makes it difficult to move around. You'll understand one day, junior.

There are better ways to keep large amounts of cash liquid without depositing $250,000 at a bunch of different banks. And yes, it will still be insured, even the amount above the $250,000 limit.

Bank branches exist to supply an illusion of wealth and stability to people. People NEED to see a bricks and mortars location to prove existence. So, you go into any podunk town and you see 2 bank branches where 3 women work, all of them making $7.50 per hr each with no benefits. Its a joke. Passbook savings are .05 %, loans are unattainable except for those with a 700 credit score and the place functions as a bill payment clearing house. Its all a fraudulent game to prevent people putting a run on banks and putting their cash in mattresses and canning jars in the back yard.
