When did Ryan Adams start sucking?

Man I liked him back in Whiskeytown days and his first couple albums. But I just listened to a bunch of his newer stuff and wow, I kind of hated it.It was very "aging classic rocker"-esque.

I feel sad.

I actually was thinking "did somebody mis-label some Bryan Adams as Ryan Adams?"  I thought I'd hear "Cuts like a knife" at any minute.

he's had his moments in his solo career.. "Heartbreaker" was very good.. and he did some good stuff with the Cardinals, for sure.. I think if Cold Roses could've been condensed into one studio record, it would've been more impressive, 'cause there are 8-10 tunes on the double album that are very solid..

but, yeah, Whiskeytown certainly sets the bar high.

Once he did that song for that Robin Hood movie, and then dropped the B from his name, he has sucked.
