This year is going to be interesting in Ann Arbor (sorry, Bob). I've never seen a worse home schedule, and there's definitely a malaise setting in among the fans about Hoke (sorry, Brady - malaise, not mayonnaise).
Maybe they'll keep packing that stadium to see a mediocre team play less than mediocre opponents, but at some point something has to give and they are going to start seeing a lot of empty seats.

Their schedule is cake, though. They're probably looking at worst case 9-3. Catch a break against ND, 10-2. Either way, Walmart Joe is going to be pounding the lines at 97.1 to scream from the mountaintops about how they're on their way back.
Seriously, if they go 8-4 or worse with that schedule, they should burn that whole program to the ground and start over.

I know this discussion was already had on TOB but people making these projections are still looking at SCum like Walverines do "they're Michigan for Gosh Sake". The team almost lost the Indiana in a shootout last year and don't appear to have added any higher quality then they had last year. Why are they going to magically beat Minnesota, Indiana, Northwestern, and Penn State? I give them Rutgers and perhaps Maryland (though they do return a lot of starters from last year), but I just can't believe after last year, and the players they lost, that people still look at their schedule and give them auto wins this year, against teams they lost to or had an extremely hard time beating last year.

not apologies necessary. I'm as interested in UM football as every MSU graduate is.Bizarro Fletch wrote:This year is going to be interesting in Ann Arbor (sorry, Bob). Agreed, but Hoke is a shitty coach. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow found ways to lose to teams like Northwestern, Utah, and Minnesota.

Dont know about all that. I have a feeling Hoke is capable and still in a rebuilding process... That's how bad DickRod screwed the pooch. I don't pay attention as close as some of you, but isn't their O line still relatively young (since he was starting from scratch). Redshirt jrs and srs make an offensive line go. (See how long it took Dantonio... we were 6-7 his 3rd year post ding dong JLS.)
The best possible outcome for MSU is the walmarters rebel and force Hoke out which upsets the "process" all over again.

I like how we've spent the fifth most on visiting teams. Four of the top five are B1G teams.
