Days with Jud: Coach set tone for Spartans' rise

I covered the Spartans in 1986-87 and 1987-88 – when they still played at Jenison Field House and suited up players like Darryl Johnson, Vernon Carr and Carlton Valentine, who son Denzel is a junior standout for the current team.
Over the past 30 years, Michigan State has failed to qualify for both the NCAA and NIT tournaments in just two seasons, and those happened to be the years.

Jud is the man. No doubt But it. No way izzo is the izzo we love today with out him.

His decision not to cheat, despite getting robbed in the NCAA tourney twice and then the Weber state game is what makes the izzo era the ultimate "make good"

Nice piece that shows the real Jud. He's funny as hell, but he's also a genuinely good man.

I just posted the article. No writing. I also did not realize Loose had already posted it in the Final Four thread. That is why he knows about Heat Miser's shower habits.

Some of the articles deserve their own thread, I'm just aggregating them in a Final Four thread. The Rexrode article on Izzo from today is one example but I don't want to start 20 threads a day.
