A County in Tennessee Sponsors Legislation Asking God To Spare Them From His Wrath..

County Commissioner Karen Miller wants to save Blount County from the “wrath” of God.

Miller, who represents District 4, is sponsoring a resolution asking that the Supreme Being “pass us by in His coming wrath and not destroy our county as he did Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities” because of the June 26 opinion by the U.S. Supreme Court that legalized same-sex marriage throughout the nation.

County Commissioner Hopes to Avoid "Wrath of God"

Man, when I went to parochial school for 8 years, and church 6 of the seven days out of the week, I always thought it was the devil I should fear. My how times have changed.

there is a guy I used to work with who is a religious zealot - I don't have anything in common with him, really, other than that we used to work together - who truly thinks that the world is coming to end because of America's stance on gay marriage.

After the SCOTUS ruling back in the summer he texted me and said "we are living in the end times" -

how do you even respond to someone like that? I can't imagine living in such negative surroundings day after day.
