I guess I'd do what I'd want my employee to do if the rolls were reversed. But shit, everyone has to figure that out for themselves.

I doubt your shift manager will care if you're late.

I'm thinking the boss probably canceled the return flight.

Full disclosure: I'm actively seeking another company and already turned down one offer since the career path was nil much like the current place. Oh, and I truly believe trcmb rods would make better managers than the crop I've been dealing with for 4 years now

After the shit you spread here, this is the last place you would go for advice.
I'm surprised you have a job that lets you get more than 15 minutes from home.

While you are challenged in many ways, Blanch does communicate in a way only Blanch can understand.

Re: Return flight canceled: do I tell my boss?
Blanch, you need to find a job for grown-ups, where you don't have to tell your boss where you are day to day. And he won't give a shit either. You'll just be expected to get your work done. In fact you will know what needs to get done and you will do it, without the boss saying a word. And you will do a great job at it, because you hold yourself accountable and you demand excellence of yourself!
I do trips where I'm literally in four countries in five days. You think my boss knows where the fuck I am at any given moment? Fuck no!
Find that job Blanch! It's out there.

Blanch, don't listen to Vlad. At the end of the day, he still has to call somebody a boss. People that have bosses are poor.

Blanch you need to stop working for the man. Jesus your lifestyle requires a freedom that you won't find by working for the man. Plus, I think chicks dig a guy that is self employed and has money.

Maybe develop a whiskey. Spell the label wrong then say "we bottle this before it matures".

Whats it like having to answer for a bread count and how much lost lettuce you have at the end of your Subway shift? One can only imagine the hell you pay if you ever lose that pumpkin cutter bread knife.

Believe me I already do my bosses job for him. We don't even talk once a week. Sometimes its like 1 hour every month.
Problem is the company and the fact I'm the smartest one here. That's not good for an engineering company

First rule of firing people is to do it with cause and documentation. No severance. No unemployment.

For fun: Ive made you over a million in less than 4 years, where's your cause for termination? Oh we don't have an employment contract either and you also have a job to do and we only discuss goals and performance once a year at best. More like once every 18 months

Lol. Last company was $4M in one year, but I had a bigger denominator to work with by extra zero

Close. Negotiating engineering and construction contracts, with each project in the range of $150mm to $400mm. Not bridges though, just a capex budget of about $3.5B.
