it's a good question.

I usually just grab a beer, throw on an album and kick back and listen. Sometimes I'll flip the TV on, put it on mute and listen to tunes..

Yeah, but when he gets those tunes going, a PBR flowing, and his Vans kicked off, Bob may be able to overlook whatever transgressions may have caused him to deride the dog to his internet pals.

Its a pretty depressing story if you think about it. He says he's married and has a kid, but what if both passed or moved away, and all he was left with is the dog. So on Friday afternoons, he buys his 18 pack of PBR and starts drinking alone. He hates the dog for what it represents, but at the same time loves the dog for what it used to be. Bob, I'm sorry your life is so hard.
