My guess is that she looks better on TV than in person. They use a lot of makeup and also use that halo/mist effect around her face to soften it and hide the skin texture like they did with Elizabeth Taylor in those perfume commercials. A very attractive friend of mine was going to be a regular on a TV show in HD a few years back and she didn't like the way she looked on HD because it showed every flaw in her skin. Dianne Sawyer is a beautiful woman, but I'm sure she doesn't look like her TV image at all. Yep.  I called it the halo/mist effect, but I like your name for it better.  So, from now on I will call it the "beer goggles" effect.  Do I have to put a trademark symbol on that, or are you making it public domain?  It's important that the legalities be observed.
