Curious when MSU offers Brandon Johns from EL. Izzo visited him in early December. Bob probably has some insight.

Izzo has been going to the games at EL since Johns got there....According to the crystal balls experts all 3 are green, he also has an offer from our arch rivals in hoops: Alabama

I don't know the kid, so he may be all about heading to MSU, but I do know there's a large group of college-bound grads from EL every year who just have to get out of town. Like I said, that's just a general observation, so DO NOT PANIC. There still could be a silent commit or he could be waiting to see where his girlfriend goes to college.

It was like that when I graduated from EL....lots of kids wanted to leave, some did, some didn't. We also had lots of people roll right into MSU. I think being a highly regarded athletic recruit changes some of that though, more things in play.

On the recruiting trail Herro has been popular since playing very well in April. He has long had offers from schools such as DePaul, Marquette, Wisconsin, Xavier, and Purdue. Recently schools such as Indiana and Florida have offered, with interest coming in from Arizona, Michigan State, UCLA, and Virginia.

That's what Shaquille O'Neal suggested on a recent episode of his podcast, The Big Podcast with Shaq.

O'Neal's son, Shareef O'Neal, is a four-star forward who plays for the Windward School in Los Angeles. He's rated the No. 38 player in the class of 2018 by 247sports.

#1 player in Wisconsin's 2018 class plans to visit MSU.

Michigan State's assistant coach Dane Fife reached out to 2018 Stevens Point (Wis.) Area Senior’s forward Joey Hauser. In the near future, Hauser plans to visit East Lansing.

“One of the assistants coaches called my dad,” Hauser said. “In June, I plan on visiting Michigan State, Iowa and Marquette.”

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound Hauser, who describes himself as “versatile forward,” has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Marquette and Bradley. He also is getting interest from Michigan State, Arizona, Baylor, Virginia, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota.

Thomas Kithier's decision to commit to Michigan State was an easy one

When Thomas Kithier took the trip from Macomb to East Lansing on Tuesday, a simple recruiting visit to Michigan State was the only matter of business.

Tour around. Watch some practice. Talk to coaches. The norm.

Looking around, though, Kithier realized that he was where he wanted to be.

One of the state's top 2018 recruits, Kithier has continued to climb the rankings and gain more attention as a prospect. Originally the plan was to take some visits this summer -- check out Michigan State again, Michigan again, and head to Oakland, Akron and DePaul -- then play out his junior season at Dakota High School. After that, he'd head back to the AAU circuit next summer and try to keep raising his profile.

Tom Izzo, like everyone else, thought that was Kithier's plan.
