This State Farm commercial makes no sense
•The guy says he's never getting married, then gets married.
•Guy says they're never having kids, then they have a kid.
•The guy says they're never leaving the city, then they move to the suburbs.
•He says they're never having another child, she says she's pregnant.
•He says he'll never buy a minivan, then buys a minivan and even washes it.
•Then they show him holding a baby, snuggled in with the rest of his family, and he says he's never letting go.
Except, if this commercial has taught us anything, we have learned that never means nothing to this dolt. In reality, we know that some day, maybe soon, this guy will let go and lose everyone he's holding on to.
I can't predict what's going to happen to this guy, but -- based on the clear pattern developed in the storyline -- some significant event is going to cause him to lose his hold on his family and violate the promise he made to them and to himself.
This commercial makes me sad.

You'll have to talk to Jake from State Farm about khakis. Right now, it's about 1:50 a.m. ET. You can call Jake at 3 a.m.

I've seen it far too many times. This is just the first time I decided to expose the lie in this commercial. I don't want any of you falling for it.

Re: This State Farm commercial makes no sense
Commercial was prolly written by a millennial, pitched to another millennial, that millennial approved it after consulting with the board of directors (all of whom = millennials, and all of them were vaping at the time and pissed about how under appreciated they are and how much the world still owes them....).
I don't know what to tell you. This generation sucks. Talk to them.

This commercial makes me sad.
He has made several sacrifices with himself. He will come to resent his wife because he will identify her as the reason why he made so many sacrifices. He will ask himself if she has really ever had to sacrifice, the answer will be that she had made very few relative to him, and he will leave the family. He made an awful mistake not holding his ground early on, and she made a big mistake thinking she could change him. Divorce attorneys feast on a guy like this.

All he had to do was leave his family and go back to a big city, assume someone else's name, and he'd never have been heard from again. Instead, now he's beholden to the Support Check, and growing ever more angry at his ex and bitter at the two little shits he never wanted.

He thinks the kids' babysitter is flirting with him. She's not. It's going to add to his embarrassment and misery.

So he ends up with the guy he's in the bar with? Or was he just cruising gay bars and that's the dude he was with that particular night? Let's ask SD--he'll know.

Said I was never getting married, got married.
Never having kids, have 2 kids.
I never thought I'd have a minivan, I have a minivan, but I like it.
I live in the 'burbs, although I never really lived in the city.
I currently have no plans to leave my family, or be gay.

I'd be gay except for that homosexual sex thing. That's a deal breaker.
