He only looks like he's at the game. In his mind, he's already got his pole in the water at his cabin at Rice Lake, in NW Wisconsin, where it's Bo- and infection-free.

So let me summarize the article: people are dying all over the state. Lots of them are old. They don't seem to have anything else in common, except they have this weird (and typically mild) infection. Nobody knows if that's killing them, though. Everybody's confused.

Wow. That's ten minutes of my life I'm never getting back.

That's an oversimplification of the issue. It's a dozen counties in south/southeastern Wisconsin. Yes, it's affecting mostly people 65+ who have had a previous health problem, but they can't make any other connection--yet. That typically mild infection has made dozens sick, and that "startling" (their word) discovery has the CDC concerned enough that its sent a team of 8 to investigate. But if reading that story and this thread took you ten minutes, you have bigger issues to worry about.
