Wind really picked up the last few minutes. Looks like we're finally gonna get a little wet

There was a whole band of wild looking stuff headed this way but it petered out. Again, barely enough to wet the pavement.
Fuck the weather.

Thats funny... You don't live particularly far from me and it rained here for a solid hour, the beginning of which was super heavy.

We got a good soak late this afternoon into the early evening. It's always nice when mom nature takes care of watering the vegetables.

Did you sit your pool naked and soak or something?

No, only because there was lightning with the storm. But, I like the way you think.

Coworker lives around 35 Mile and Dequindre. Says his yard has been green the entire spring and summer so far. Lot of brown stuff here, less than 20 miles away.Travis of the Cosmos wrote:The Pantry wrote:There was a whole band of wild looking stuff headed this way but it petered out. This is bullshit. Even thunder and lightning have sucked for months. Tornado sirens only go off in bright sunshine at 1pm first Saturday every month.
There better be more rain tomorrow.

This is the first real soaker we've had all year, thanks to the separate storms that moved through. Had to drive through the first one on my way to DTW. Just a steady rain for the drive back. I'd guess the farmers around here are loving this.

Beware - this is the weather forecaster that my brother in law the farmer relies on.....
Highly volatile rain situation could produce excessive rain in part of Michigan
Highly volatile rain situation could produce excessive rain in part of Michigan
The rain situation currently means excessive rain is possible in some spots of Michigan Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning.
By excessive, I mean I wouldn't be surprised to see a few rain gauges with four inches of rain in them by noon Saturday.
I'll try to explain the rain situation.
First, the easy part is to describe when it will rain here in Michigan. By late this afternoon, a few clumps of thunderstorms will be developing. But generally I would say most rain and storms will occur overnight tonight and very early Saturday morning. Saturday morning the rain will gradually diminish. A few quick bursts of rain may still happen in the southern half of Lower Michigan during the day Saturday. The bulk of the rain, however, will be over by 8 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016.

The mountain effect. I could handle a half-hour rain every day. It would keep everything green. But don't worry, that rain will disappear next month and you'll be trudging through snow.

The snow in Denver is gone by noon because of the sun. If I want to fuck around in the snow I head to the mountains. It's a beautiful situation.

About two lives ago (so, in the early 90s), I used get out to Denver on business quite a bit. It always amazed me how two feet of snow could melt in Denver in 24 hours. Like 2' of snow in January one day, the next it's 60 and sunny.
