Mobile phone theft
One of my sons went to Electric Forest this past weekend. Naturally, he got high and someone stole his cell phone (S6 Active), which is on my account. Happened on Friday but didn't contact me about it until this evening on facebook.
Asked why he waited so long. Said he was hoping it would show up in the event lost-and-found
ATT customer service (out of Houston and spoke perfect English) was very helpful. Said there was no activity on the phone since Friday and got the phone # suspended. No insurance on the phone...with his phone track record, will make him pay for it next time eligible for an upgrade. Dude arranged things so my kid can take my pristine condition old S4 to an ATT store tomorrow to get all his stuff transferred to it.
Guy was so helpful he actually talked me into a tablet for 99 cents (claimed $500 retail value). Has its own phone number with 200 monthly minutes and no monthly charge ($10) unless I access data with it away from WiFi. Said it's an Asus tablet offered by ATT & Google only to ATT's best customers. Tracked me back to 1991 with ATT and said I'm only the 5th customer the deal has been offered to this month...probably bullshit. This should be interesting. Have 14 business days to return it pre-paid.

Fucked around with Sprint a couple times. ATT is hard to beat. Also discovered tonight they will send me gift cards up to $500 a year to get others to switch to ATT services.Rocinante wrote:You're a loyal little consumer. Congrats.

Your son raves? He sounds way cooler than you. Too bad about his phone, I'm pretty bad with them as well. You raised your own OTPT. Nice.

Asked what he wanted for Christmas a couple years ago. He wanted a hammock for Electric Forest the following summer.

Is that a thing now? We were in Grand Haven this weekend and there were kids everywhere in hammocks. Even on the pier. Never saw so many hammocks in my life. Do they carry them wherever they go?

Re: Mobile phone theft
One of my kids lost 2 before it clicked.(phones, not hammocks) The first he had about 3 months before leaving it on a train, never to be seen again. The other lasted about a month before it was apparently snatched out of his backpack (that he was too nonchalant with).
And no, these were not right in a row, he had to tough it out with an old POS until his renewal was up, twice.
Seems like the light bulb is on, most of the time, and, anyway, he can buy his own phone now.

...and banana hammock is a pretty common term for a speedo. Not sure where geography comes into play.

He's definitely a stoner. Washed out of EMU his freshman year after pledging a bong frat. Has lived with his mom ever since HS, except for the Ypsi time. Knows more about pot that anyone I know.Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:The Pantry wrote:Whatever, stoner.

Cannabusiness is huge already and only going to get bigger.
Edit: I know that's obvious, but I really wanted to use the word cannabusiness.
