Sadler was a four-year starter at Michigan State from 2011-14, where he became the first four-time Academic All-American in school history. Sadler was a B1G Medal of Honor recipient for his academic achievements.

Wow. Crazy. He was a huge part of success in 2013 & 2014. He was a master at dropping punts inside the 15. He was almost automatic between thr 40s. He was also fuuny as hell on twitter. RIP Mike.

LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye injured in Wisconsin car crash that killed Nebraska, Michigan State players

LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was hospitalized after being involved in a car crash in Wisconsin overnight that took two players’ lives, a Wisconsin sheriff's department confirmed in a new release Sunday.

Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were killed in the crash, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department confirmed. Delahoussaye and the players were attending a weekend kicking camp in Wisconsin.

Details on Delahoussaye’s injuries were not known. Delahoussaye was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the release said. Delahoussaye was riding in the back seat of the vehicle, a source told The Advocate.

Foltz was a passenger in a car travelling westbound on Beaver Lake Road at 11:30 p.m. The car lost control on west pavement, left the roadway and struck a tree. Speed appears to be a factor in the traffic crash, the release said.

The driver of the car was Sadler. He and Foltz were pronounced dead at the scene.

He definitely made a difference, I'm sure in more profound ways than by connecting with snarky, sarcastic 30 and 40 (and 50) something beat writers and alums like us. I think that's what makes this so strangely difficult and personal. He was a kid who I could have easily hung out with and had conversations where our senses of humor and outlook on life would have melded. I can't say that about Kirk Cousins or Max Bullough or Darqueze Dennard. I think I did have some twitter conversations with him and Rexrode and maybe Ty where we were all being sarcastic assholes together.

But above and beyond all of that, he was a really smart kid with a really bright future in front of him, who everyone loved. He had a positive contribution to the world and there's no doubt he would have continued along that path.

Sucks.
