SpaceX said that in preparation for Thursday's engine firing — a test carried out a few days before every launch — "there was an anomaly on the pad resulting in the loss of the vehicle and its payload." There were no additional details provided.

Do they mean that is where the explosion occurred, or do they mean something went wrong with the pad causing it to explode?

Pity poor Space X, they just can’t get the Texas locals to understand why they need to impersonate cops to continually close public roads for their own benefit, despite being told to knock it off.

Seems about right for them. What is a few closed rural roads when you are also violating FAA regulations as an Astronautics company? I also love the hubris, the regulations are too conservative, and we know better. Following their "leader" I suppose.
