What would they be? Family is in the Midwest. Single, no mortgage. 30 years old...

Company wants to keep me and said "you pick the place you want to live, and we'll find work."

So what would be your top 3 places to live?

Water is a must, lived in the desert for 6 years...

More than 3 places but on Lake Michigan - say New Buffalo to Petoskey .

Still reasonably priced homes in some areas.
Close enough for weekends in Chicago, Detroit or TC.

Live near your family. But at least an hour away. It can't be TOO easy to get there. If I wasn't established here in Wyoming I'd probably come back to Michigan and live somewhere on the west coast. Grand Rapids is nice although not as close to the lake as I'd like to be. Traverse City maybe.

If you're sure you're not interested in being near family (be sure about it, because you might want to be around later when your parents are getting older), Pittsburgh is a cool city. Close to some awesome natural areas and not overwhelming as far as size, but great restaurants and culture, plus a great sports town. If you want warm climate San Antonio is cool as long as you live near downtown.

That's all I got for stuff that isn't the BIG cities.

Long story about my bike but I had one. Planning on getting a road bike for next summer. I do have a car. Rarely drive it within Denver - only if I'm going to the mountains.
